From Dreams, to Reality -Inspiring the Next Generation of Artists in the BOQ

In the not-so-distant past, the Bay of Quinte region was a place where many artistic residents felt they had to jump ship and head to larger cities in search of opportunities to fulfill their creative aspirations.

However, the tides are changing, and our region is rapidly evolving into a vibrant hub of creative talent. The children growing up in the BOQ now have a growing number of places to attend, where they can nurture their talents, build their confidence, and have a much-needed outlet to express their individuality. This is something many people who grew up here didn’t have the privilege of experiencing, and it’s transforming the creative landscape of our community.

Here are just a few places in our area, where your children can cultivate and nurture their burgeoning artistic talent:

Artworks Studio

From painting to breakdancing, Chris Bennett has established a welcoming studio in the area, offering children the opportunity for weekly drop-in classes. With the flexibility to come as you wish and the warm, inclusive atmosphere fostered by Chris, this place is an absolute must for young creatives. In a recent announcement, it’s been revealed that two free spots will be made available each week for families facing financial challenges, ensuring every child can access these enriching extracurricular activities.
